Men’s, Women’s, Men’s Wheelchair, Women’s Wheelchair (Note: Records will not be approved by the IAAF for not complying with the IAAF rules. The race is liable to restricted operations due to the concurrence of the national team selection event.)

Marathon: Tokyo Metropolitan Government -- Iidabashi -- Imperial Palace -- Hibiya -- Shinagawa -- Ginza -- Nihombashi -- Asakusa Kaminari-mon Gate -- Tsukiji -- Ariake (Toyosu) -- Tokyo Big Sight (To be approved by Japan Association of Athletics Federations/AIMS for official record)

Competition Rules In accordance with the JAAF and Race rules and regulations
Time Limit Marathon :  7 hrs
10km Race :  1hr 40mins
(i) The time limit will be set up according to the signal gun.
(ii) The close-gate time will be set up at each checkpoint due to traffic regulations and secure operation of the competition. Those runners, who fail to pass through the checkpoint within the given time, will be disqualified from the race.

Qualification
1) Marathon: Over 18 years old as of the day of the Race
(except high school students)
  I . National Team Selection
i . Must be JAAF 2006 registered athletes having achieved the following during Feb.1, 2005 to the date of application.
  Marathon: Within 2hrs 30min
30km road race: Within 1hr 35min
Half Marathon: Within 1hr 07min
II . Male runners recommended by JAAF
III . Invitation Runners
  (1)International invitation runners
(Male runners recommended by JAAF)
(2)Japanese invitation runners
(Male runners recommended by JAAF)
Note: Registration will begin in December.
If you are eligible, please contact the Prefectural/City Government’s Athletic Association.
ii . Male and female athletes capable of finishing the race within 6 hrs 40 min. (Includes JAAF registered athletes excluding i. and the disabled excluding wheelchairs)
iii . About 25 male and female athletes capable of finishing the race within 2hrs using wheelchairs designed for racing.
2) 10km Race: Over 16 years old as of the day of the Race
  I . Mass Race: Male and female athletes capable of finishing the race within 1hr 30mins.
II . Special Race: Male and female athletes with disabilities capable of finishing the race within 1hr 30mins.
i . 25 male and female athletes using wheelchairs designed for racing.
ii . 50 pairs of male and female visually impaired athletes with companions.
iii . 100 male and female mentally impaired athletes.
vi . 50 male and female "transplant" athletes.
  Note: “Transplant” refers to organ transplant, bone-marrow transplant and cornea transplant.

1) Procedure Through Internet.
2) Application Period Sunday, June 18, 2006 thru Friday, August 18, 2006.
Important reminder upon registration (Please read carefully)
3) Screening In case of the number of applicants exceeds the prescribed number, entrants will be decided by lottery. Notification will be sent by early October. Second round of registration may be held depending on conditions.
4)Payment deadlines Selected applicants should pay the application fee by the end of October. Application will be invalid if no payment is made. Processing fees of transfer fees will differ by payment methods.)
Awards
(1) Marathon : I . Athletes completing in 1st to 8th places in each gender group will be awarded.
  II . Athletes completing in 1st to 3rd places per age group in steps of 5 years in each gender group will be awarded. (Excluding those awarded for I. Awards will be sent after the marathon)
  III . Wheelchair athletes completing in 1st to 8th places in each gender group will be awarded.

(2) 10km Race :

I . Athletes completing in 1st to 8th places in each gender group will be awarded.
  II . Athletes completing in 1st to 8th places will be awarded per group (visually impaired, mentally impaired, transplant) in each gender group.

Privacy of Personal Information
  The sponsor of the Race regards protecting personal information an important responsibility and will observe all applicable Japanese laws and regulations regarding the handling of personal information. All personal information will be handled under the management of the sponsor’s personal information protection policy. Personal information will be used only for the purpose of improving service to the entrants, notification of race guides, notification of records, notification of race-related information, notification of future races, provision of services by sponsor/co-sponsors/supporting organization of the race, and record announcements (rankings, etc.). There may also be cases where the sponsor or a third party hired by the sponsor may contact you regarding your application.
Others
(1) Please read these guidelines carefully before registration.
(2) False declaration of age, gender, etc., and substitution by others (illegal substitution) is not allowed. Entry qualification will be revoked in such cases.
(3) Changes to entry in other events after registration, cancellation of registration, double registration is not allowed.
(4) No refunds will be made if the race is cancelled for reasons not attributable to the sponsor.
(5) Please make sure you are physically fit to participate in the marathon by training adequately and/or receiving a health check-up.
(6) The sponsor will perform emergency procedures for injuries and other accidents, but will not be held responsible for any future treatments.
(7) All rights of videos, photos, articles and other forms of records related to the Race to appear on TV, newspaper, magazines, internet, etc. will be in the ownership of the sponsor during the period of the Race.
(8) Companions are allowed only to the visually impaired in both the full marathon and 10km race. The sponsor does not render companion mediation services.(Guide dogs are not permitted as companions.)
(9) This race will conform to all laws and regulations of Japan.
(10) Please abide by any other instructions given by the sponsor regarding the requirements of the race.
Important reminder upon registration (Please read carefully)
(1) Double registration/double entry in both the marathon and 10km race is not allowed. Please note that one person is limited to entry in one event. No refunds of entry fee will be made for multiple registrations made by an individual.
(2) If the name of one’s affiliating organization is seemingly inappropriate by the sponsor, as deemed to promote advertisement/publicity or offensive to public order and morals, the name of the affiliating organization may be deleted. Also, names of organizations with more than 7 characters may be deleted partially or revised by the sponsor.
(3) Registration may be rejected as invalid if the administration office finds multiple registrations by differing entry methods made by one individual.
(4) Changes, revisions and cancellations of application information cannot be made after registration. The administration office will contact you by e-mail or phone only if there is a problem with your registration.
(5) Inquiries and questions concerning the status of the registration such as the number of applicants or the results of the lottery will not be accepted at the entry center.
(6) Results of the lottery will be notified to all applicants by e-mail by early October. Please be aware that notifications will not be re-sent in cases of misdescription of e-mail address.
(7) Entry by substitute and transfer of rights are not allowed. Entry qualification will be revoked if that individual is found not to be the same person as the applicant at the ID check to be conducted at the reception desk. In such case, no refunds of entry fee will be made.
