東京マラソン財団 〈Tokyo Marathon Foundation’s logo information〉
The three blocks that lie beneath represent the three essential momentums that keep the Tokyo Marathon going: joy of running (runners), pride of helping (volunteers and charity crew), and fun of cheering (street spectators and TV viewers). The horizontal bar that connects the three blocks symbolizes the Tokyo Marathon Foundation, which does exactly that for the event.
A traditional color representing the spirit of Edo (Tokyo’s former name), a shade of purple known as Edo Murasaki, is used throughout the logo.

Logos for the Tokyo Marathon, official events and official club are given below.

TOKYO MARATHON 201
The main runner motif was created after the Chinese character “Dai” signifying largeness, greatness, and strength. The aspirations of the Tokyo Marathon runners to reach out to the world from the streets of Tokyo and bring excitement, manifest themselves in this powerful and dynamic calligraphic style.
