Special notes about donation and entry fee
|①||The recipient of the donations is Tokyo Marathon Foundation. Donations to the Foundation are not tax deductible.|
|②||Only individual donors are eligible to apply for the charity-runner slots.|
|③||The donors who wish to participate in the marathon will be asked to select a charity project to be undertaken by the charity organization to which funds will be allotted. Although every effort will be made to honor the wish of the charity runners, the actual allocation of the proceeds will be decided by the Foundation by taking into account a number of factors.
The Foundation plans to donate 50% of the proceeds raised to aid the recovery of the areas devastated by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake.
The Foundation reserves the right to allocate a portion of the donations to other charitable activities, after taking into account the size of donations gathered, changes in social conditions, the occurrence of a disaster, or other unforeseen factors.
|④||Taxes may be imposed on the donations we receive. If taxed, the amount that goes to charitable causes may be the net after such taxes. We will disclose updated information of charitable activities on the Tokyo Marathon official website as well as other media.|
|⑤||No cancellation or refund of donation or entry fee will be made after money transfer is completed.
No refund of donation or entry fee will be made if the event is cancelled due to any reason beyond the control the organizer.
|⑥||The organizer will not issue receipts for entry fee (please use the money transfer/payment records issued by banks as proof of payment). Due to complex administrative procedures, receipts acknowledging donations will be mailed out only after March 2012. We apologize for the delay.|
