[Notes]
  1. Donations can be earmarked for one of the recipient programs. However, any of the recipient programs may change due to natural disaster, war, suspension of the organization, or other unforeseen factors.
  2. Both corporations and individuals can make donations.
  3. Donations are nonrefundable.
  4. Receipt for donations
    A receipt for your donation will be sent to your registered address. Note that the date of issuance of the receipt depends on the date when the money is received.
    See below for more details:
    * If you send a donation to the designated bank account by Friday, December 20, 2013, your receipt will be dated for 2013 and will be issued around the end of January 2014. If your donation is sent after the above date, the receipt will be dated for 2014 and will be issued around the end of June 2014.
    Donation deduction does not apply to donations to the program to rebuild the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
  5. Please understand that the personal information you provide when you make your donation will be used by the recipient organization to send you a receipt and by Tokyo Marathon Foundation to send you information.
  6. Results of the charity programs, the status of the utilization of donations in each of the recipient programs, and other related information will be reported on the Tokyo Marathon’s official website.
  7. The abovementioned rules regarding donation deductions are authorized by the Japanese tax system.
    Regarding overseas donation applications, check with the respective tax authority in the applicant’s country.

Charity Runners

3,000 runners (first-come, first-served) *The application period may end earlier based at the organizer’s judgment.
[Eligibility]
  1. Those who have applied to donate 100,000 yen or more to the charity programs and wish to participate in Tokyo Marathon 2014
  2. Those who will be 19 years old or older on the date of Tokyo Marathon 2014
  3. Men and women who can finish the marathon in less than 6 hours and 40 minutes (for runners with disabilities who have difficulty in running by themselves, a guide runner can run with them)
  4. In addition, the application guidelines and regulations for ordinary runners are applied mutatis mutandis to charity runners as well.

  1. If payment is not received by the due date, the charity runner application will be void.
  2. The participation fee is nonrefundable. If charity programs and / or Tokyo Marathon 2014 are cancelled due to any reason for which the organizer is not responsible, the participation fee will not be refunded.
  3. Transfer statements or the payment receipts issued by financial institutions must serve as participation fee receipts.
  4. Receipt for donation
    A receipt for your donation will be sent to your registered address. Note that the date of issuance of the receipt depends on the donation procedures and the date when the money is received.

    * For bank transfer payments:
    If your donation is deposited into the designated bank account by Tuesday, November 19, 2013, your receipt will be dated for 2013 and will be issued around the end of January 2014.
    * For credit card payments:
    If you make a donation by Thursday, October 31, 2013, your receipt will be dated for 2013 and will be issued around the end of January 2014. If your donation is made after the above date, your receipt will be dated for 2014 and will be issued around the end of June 2014.

  5. Before participating in Tokyo Marathon 2014, make sure to pay attention to your health by training sufficiently and undergoing certain medical checkups.
  6. A Charity Runner T-shirt will be sent to all charity runners. Please wear this T-shirt on a race day to promote these charitable programs.
